The Cactus Jar
Core Curricula – Repetitive and Restricted Behaviours. In this video Jassi plays her new game Four Ideas. In this game Jassi has to come up with 4 different ways to use her cactus Jar. By thinking of different ways you can use an object this helps with being more creative and flexible in thinking as well as being open to new experiences.
Individuals with autism have challenges with being flexible in thinking and often have preference for keeping more ritualized play or engage in more stereotypic play which can also be very repetitive.
The Four Ideas Game will be a regular segment on Planet Jassi and we suggest that teachers ,therapists and parents play this game on a regular basis.
