Captain’s Comedy Hour
The Captain received some fan mail from one of our superstars Lucy with
some constructive feedback . Lucy being a fan of Planet Jassi thought she would be
helpful by giving her honest opinion. She sent The Captain a letter with the jokes and scored the jokes accordingly. All jokes were given negative feedback and she thought she would be assisting by also sending in some of her jokes that were much funnier and not so bland.
Individuals with autism can be very literal and have challenges with social skills due to difficulties with social communication skills. This segment highlights and brings attention to this.
There are rules around this and many professionals refer to the hidden curricula social skills that we learn along the way not necessarily are taught.
Often people with autism will say what they think and sometimes lack empathy on how their thoughts and opinions can affect others especially if they are not sensitive to other peoples feelings .

The Captain keeps a good front and takes the constructive critisism as helpful advice especially since he is suppose to be the expert in good joke telling.
Lucy ‘s intentions do not match the receivers message and thus there is a miss match in communication skills . Teaching explicit social skills is important and learning how to effectively communicate is important especially if you want to make and keep friends.
