Planet Jassi – Cheer chants the Letter/sound S
Hi Superstars welcome to another episode of Jassi’s Cheer Chants.
Jassi would rather dance than practice her speech sound articulation, so what better way to practice her initial / s/ words than to do some Cheer chants.
That way she gets the best of both words her speech therapist will be happy and she gets to dance.
Tongue twisters don’t make a lot of sense , but they are filled with repeated sounds making them helpful in speech therapy.
Some benefits include :
1. strengthening and stretching the muscles involved in speech
2. bringing to your attention habitual speech patterns which may be less than perfect
By improving clarity it can help others hear what is being said and comprehend correctly.
Basically a tongue twister is an articulation drill it works the same way as physical exercise . The more you practice ,the better your pronunciation will be.
Message to therapist /parents carers/ teachers
Jassi Cheer Chant segment is a fun way to teach speech articulation drills. By incorporating movement and having fun and renaming it to “cheer chants’, individuals with autism spectrum will become more engaged and be more open to learning when they become less restricted in their thinking. By having the individual think they are dancing this reduces rigid thinking mind stet and the individual will join in and learn without realising it. Its always fun and games at Planet Jassi Studios .
Use this segment to practice /s/ sound carry-over whilst improving fluency and help build confidence.
